Wind Project – Grid Connection

This page describes how electricity generated by the Tulcea Wind Project will be exported to the national electricity network. The grid connection strategy has been developed to ensure reliable power evacuation while minimising connection risk.

Grid Connection Concept

Electricity generated by the wind turbines will be collected via an internal medium-voltage collector system and delivered to a central transformer station. From there, power will be stepped up and transmitted to the existing electricity network.

Connection Characteristics

• Connection Voltage: 110 / 20 kV
• Connection Type: Onshore grid connection
• Distance to Substation: Approximately 7 km
• Infrastructure Strategy: Utilisation of existing grid assets

Operational Integration

The grid connection design supports stable long-term operation and compliance with applicable grid codes. The use of existing infrastructure reduces development complexity and supports timely commissioning of the wind farm.

Detailed electrical design, protection schemes, and commissioning procedures are addressed within the project’s technical documentation.
